Seabrape (E); Micongo (C); Nula (Cu); Uva de playa (S); Uverna (S) . The acid pulp is edible fresh or in jams. It makes a beverage that may be fermented. The tannin in the bark is prescribed for diarrhea. Several other species of Coccoloba have edible fruits.
