Estrella (P); Muneco (CR); Naranjillo (C); Naranjuelo (C); Palo de Guaco (P); Pepa de sabalo (C); Sorrocloco (C); Socorroclosa (C). The fruit, thoudh malodorous, is quite edible. The sap is caustic. Cataplasms of the leaves are used to remove spines and a boiled infusion is diuretic and febrifugal.
